The Story Behind the Name “Five and Thriving”✍🏾My Life🌿

Storytime
One thing about me is that I will give someone a nickname of endearment real quick. I just love names and the meanings behind them. Names carry stories and sometimes can capture your heart before you even realize it. That is exactly what happened when I came up with the name for this blog: Five and Thriving.
My Loves
It all started with my five children. Each one of my children is unique, with their very own personality, dreams, and quirks. I recently found myself thinking about what I want for them, not just to live, not just to get by, but to thrive in life. I have always thought of that, but not in the urgency or manner I have more recently. To grow, to learn, to explore, to find joy and purpose in everything they do. In that reflection, the name came to me almost naturally: Five and Thriving 🤎

“Thriving” is more than just a word to me. It’s a mindset. It’s about flourishing in every sense, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, creatively, and mentally. That is what I desire wholeheartedly for my five babies. It’s about embracing life with courage, celebrating successes, learning from failures, and always striving to grow. That is the life I pray for my children. It’s the spirit I wanted my blog to embody.
This blog, much like my family, is about growth. It’s about finding joy in everyday moments, exploring ideas and passions, and sharing what I learn along the way. Each post is a little reflection of that journey- lessons, stories, and insights I hope might inspire others to thrive in their own lives, too!
“Five and Thriving” has grown to mean so much more to me than just a blog name. It’s my daily reminder of my purpose, my family, and the kind of life I hope to create – not just for my children, but for myself, my legacy, and anyone who joins me here!
Thank you for being a part of this journey. I hope you’ll find something here that encourages you to thrive, whatever your “five” may be; family, friends, passions, dreams, or all of the above.
Because thriving is not just a goal- it’s a way of living.
